Poetry Month, Day 8 - Persnickety

Today's word, Persnickety (great word), was given to me by my writer friend, Anastasia Burke-Ely.  As far as I can tell, Anastasia doesn't have a persnickety bone in her body!!  Unlike Miss Prim, the subject of today's poem.  So, without further ado . . .

Persnickety

Miss Prim was so Persnickety,
regarding drink and food.
She wouldn’t touch her cricket tea.
She thought that it was crude.

She never tasted cockroach stew,
She scoffed at deep fried flies.
To whipped-up wasp, she said, "Pee-yew!"
And then she rolled her eyes.

I finally asked her, "Tell me please,
Just what would suite your taste?"
"The only thing I eat is fleas -
I must reduce my waist."
